Start of match, first game...
Geek's Toy showing match is suspended...hmmm....checking Betfair's website....and they let me know they are sory....OK...that's FAIR....or maybe not...more testing today, more jokes ?
After such start and after what happened yesterday all I can say is......be very careful !

Hi Toytrader
Staying calm as a trader is difficult enough have you ever found yourself tempted to lose discipline when an outage on betfair has caused you to have a big loss?
Also if you don't mind, what contigency plans do you have in place to cope with not being able to connect to betfair? I suppose an account with betdaq is an obvious one but I would be interested to know what other, if any, contingency plans you have.
Anyway thanks for a very informative blog. I am going to follow from now and on and I have added your blog to by blog list. Would you consider adding my blog to your blog list? The address is:
http://patientspeculation.blogspot.com
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
Thanx for your comment.
Regarding contingency plans I do have BetdaQ account and a few other, like Bet365, Pinnacle....
I also have phone numbers and TAN ready for use but I afraid it doesn't help you when Betfair's servers are down or when Bf testing their stuff like they did yesterday.
I have Geek's Toy on my main PC and Gruss BA ready for use on my 2nd PC. I also have market open in web browser on my second PC just in case there are API issues and trading software is not usable. I think another/mobile Internet connection is a must when playing with big stakes....just in case.
Do you have any advices ?
I am now one of followers of your blog too....
btw.
Could not see my blog on your blog list ;)
Wish you good luck !
Hi Toytrader
I think that you have covered just about everything (apart from carrier pidgeon & prayer mat that is ;-) )
Thanks for a comprehensive reply. The only thing that I could add to your list is that your say your phone and tan numbers are to hand I would suggest they are on a laminated sheet within view if possible so that when betfair goes of the rails and panic sets in, you have not got to destroy your desk draws etc trying to find them.
If I was a betting man!! and judging by how prepared you are I would put money on yours being on a laminated sheet in view.
Sorry about the blog link I have now remedied my error and the link is definitely up now.
Thanks again
Mark
