I have already traded 3 tennis matches today. Soderling defeated by Kohlschreiber, 7-6, 6-4. A Radwanska winner against Kirilenko and Robredo winner against Donald Young. At the moment 3 matches InPlay and you can see my trading desktop on image below. I am happy with my green numbers so I am going to have a coffee break (no alcohol while trading ! LOL) and just enjoy watching tennis. Sharapova is on Eurosport and Del Potro match on Sky.
Still some very interesting matches to come later tonight, Simon-Karlovic, Devvarman-Malisse, Verdasco-Querrey and Stosur-Safina.
Wish you good luck if you get involved in tennis trading !

Hi mate,

nice work on the blog; I've been on the search for a good trading software and have tried out several on the market including bfexplorer, betangel, gruss and even bitenko. I rather liked the simple grid UI on gruss but would like to know how to trade using the ladder interface which I noticed the toy has too that gives you a better perspective on the direction the odds are heading to;

my only problem is getting around the UI on the toy; i find it hard navigating through the markets and even placing bets on it; would really like to give this a go, would you mind giving me a few tips on how to get up to speed with the Toy?

thanks

Hi bernard,

Thanx for your comment. Regarding A Geeks Toy and how to use it, did you watch some of introduction videos ? There is GeeksToy's channel on Youtube with some great videos, some for newbies just starting to use The Toy and some other about trading.

I agree UI of Geeks Toy is 'different' comparing to other trading applications but once you know how to use it it will be your 'best friend' ;)

Believe me, I tried so many trading applications, name one and I am sure I tested it :)
I am still user of Gruss BA for some automated stuff using Gruss<---->Excel but for manual trading Geeks Toy is no 1 for me. The way it works and speed is all I need. Using ladder is a must. I almost never use grid for trading...I have markets opened in grid mode just to see what's going on but trading/hedging etc is done using ladder.
I really recommend you and other traders give it a chance.

Let me make something clear...I use The Toy NOT because it's free, I use it ONLY because it's the BEST choice for me :)

I will make a post about using Geek's Toy when I have some spare time...

Now link to youtube videos:

By the way, to use Geeks Toy you must be registered on the forum and this week is a 'donations' week...;)

Good luck !

Hi, great blog!!! I'm learning trading tennis and i'm trying to understand your strategy, and i thought it was lay to low odds, but for example in the match Mattek-Sands/Carla Suarez you backed Mattek-Sands ¿did you? becouse there were no other way to end green at the end of the first set... so, ¿when do you back o Lay?

Thank you a lot!!!
regards!

Hi and thanks Sergio !

Yes, you are right about Mattek-Sands/Suarez match. Mattek was my favorite in this match from the start. She is an extremely offensive player and was in great form. I was confident enough to back Bethanie from the start.

Another one I have in mind is Ondraskova-Davis.

Regarding my strategy I keep saying every match, every player is different and as a trader you have to be flexible, right ? So we have to use different strategies from time to time. It could be, back server (most used in ATP), lay the server (WTA), lay the player after he/she just won 1st set etc....as I see it, it's about ability to read the game during the match, sometimes we need some luck ;)
What I like to do, said it before, is playing with green. By that I mean place some of your green on a player even if it looks like match is over. You may lose some of your green but it may be a very lucky move many times, if you know what I mean.

It may looks easy but I am not always right from the start. Sometimes I lose but many times after alot of trades I could turn my red into green and it's why I really like tennis trading when you still have time/opportunity to make green after some wrong decisions ;)

By the way, I am not sure when my coffee break will be over LOL (will be back soon)

Wish you good luck !
