If you are one of followers you should remember some of my posts about Victoria Azarenka. To refresh your memory you could read posts tagged "Azarenka" {find it under labels and click Azarenka}.
Image on the left is from US Open 2010. I feel sorry for this still young tennis player. How amazing it is...she retires with a shoulder injury 2011-04-20, is back to play BOTH singles and doubles 10 days later in Madrid. She won doubles final in Madrid and lost singles final to Kvitova. Before tournament in Madrid I said:
I am looking forward to see how she will be doing and waiting for any signs of next retirement, would you bet there will be retirement before Roland Garros ?
If Betfair had market open for this kind of bets I would be a winner today.
I am NOT happy she retired today but as you see I am NOT very surprised either...Sad story indeed.
Just checked my post about Azarenka from 5th May 2010, same tournament as today Rome, Italy ;) Here is another Azarenka image I posted before on my blog...
I didn't made a fortune trading this match but happy with my green ;)
And here an image showing how she looks outside the courts ;)
You have been warned before about placing money on Azarenka !
Wish you good luck and to Victoria ... happy recovery ! ;)

I was trading this match with the training bank of the toy, I was only watching live score, and when she won the first set, she was trading at 1.20 something like that, I lay her because sharapova was playing well, and traded out at 1.40 1.50 dont remember, just before the odds were crazy and cause I was not watching live images, I tought she was injured and she was retiring, and I was correct because I remembered the post from you, that she suddenly retires of matches, I was lucky to get out this match with green too, I am traning trading with the toy, I read your blog always and is very useful to give this kind of advice, Greetings from Mexico!
René<---
Thanks for your comment. I am always glad to see any comments from my followers which makes me even more motivated to keep posting ;)
Wish you good luck and nice profits when you decide to trade using real money. Be careful and you will be OK...
cheers
hi rock, i have a really strong opinion on this and i think, that the match was sold....azarenka made me so many stressfull situations, that i doesnt believe in her anymore.... btw yesterday a i was lucky and went against azarenka. wish you all the best. PETER
Fame<---I understand how you feel and I am not surprised. Vicky has been involved in too many retirements. Nothing to say about some of them but some others are really...hmm...strange. Let's go back to match against Goerges, very suspicious odds movement a few hours before the match start. I believe it was 1.30 to 1.80...and Goerges favorite despite 5-2 to Azarenka in first set...Some people were sure there will be retirement, there is no question about it !
And coming back to play doubles and singles 10 days later (after a shoulder injury)?
Why not take a time-out from tennis and take care of her body if those injuries are real and serious ? It looks like she is a money making machine and have to play week after week... :(
And look now, despite 2 retirements in last week's she still is 2nd favorite to win French Open which starts in about 1 week !! Amazing...
I will NOT put my money on Azarenka ...always worth a lay at low odds ;)
Good luck to you...
well she is from belarus- east europe - very close to russia- i guess that anything is possible...
also the previus match against pavlyuchenka - i felt like there must be a third set....there were some parts, where the odds where moving a bit wird.... pavlyuchenka from russia - something wrong is going on with players from east europe...(:
Hello....
Im following your blog for some time, basically since i start trading!
I started trading in betfair tennis, i got some good results, but one match i lose it all...
(Chasing is a bitch)
I would like to ask you if you do and how you do it, trading with live scores?
You just look at probabilities of each player doing some situation and based on it?
Or you do some preparation pre-live and try to trading how to match go?
I will appreciate if you could answer, if not, good luck with your trades and keep it going with blogging because you are such a motivation!
Dorbigen<---As you already said..
Chasing is a bitch..
You know it and now you only have to remember this while trading and you will be OK. The hard part of trading is money management and accepting the fact there will some losing {RED} trades. Keep your strike ratio as high as possible and stop chasing.
You should decide your max liability per match. Let say it will be 5% of your bank...{no more all in !!!}
Don't let your emotions take over when it goes against you...
Sure, I trade using live score only at some times but I am very careful doing this and do NOT recommend big stakes/liabilities...
Well...
Im taking a break, because of university for a few days since i got some exams to do.
One think i saw, is that the games on ATP 250 are more unpredictable than the ATP 500+?
Since i use a strategy highly based on statistics pre-live, i think one of the problem was i trust too much the stastistics pre-live on ATP 250, when in the ATP 250 some of the favourites do not give 100%, they just "play for fun".
The way i see this, is that on ATP 500+ all players include the highly favourites play always to win, but when is a ATP 250, some of the favourites, don't play to win, but play just to stay in shape.
For example: This week on Nice Open, some big names, are playing just to stay in shape for Roland Garros, because lets be honest, i think nobody from the big favourites will risk a participation on Roland Garros, just to win the Nice Open.
So what im doing now is study some plain strategies i can use with a bot for horse racing, and waiting for roland garros.
This could be just a wannabe talking, but i really like your blog, because you are doing what i want to do. Trading Tennis when are some good tournaments and trading Horse Racing when the Tennis are on break.
I would like to know what your opinion and if you trade the ATP 250?
Dorbigen<--- I have to say you are right. I agree with what you said about smaller tournaments. You never know how motivated players are just before Grand Slam. It's why I am very careful trading 1 or 2 weeks before BIG events....Last week I traded only 2 tennis markets ;)
I don't have any stats or numbers in my head at the moment but your observations are correct I believe...you are on the right way to be a successful trader I think :)
Serious tennis trading starting tomorrow !
Good luck mate !
